According to Jenifer Langosch of MLB.com:
“Every week, I’m getting a new exercise added into the routine. Right now, I’m doing a lot of strengthening exercises and leg presses, trying to get everything strong again. All in all, I feel really good, and I haven’t had any setbacks. I will see the doctor again in mid-January, and hopefully that will be the time when I get cleared to start running. By Spring Training, I should be able to do everything. … It’s something that’s been ongoing for four or five years. Every winter I would get an MRI to see where it was, and it would be a case where surgery would be recommended, but I held off because it’s a newer surgery, and I could play through it. This year in the second half, it really started bothering me — to the point that when I’d get out of bed, I could barely walk. I wasn’t bouncing back the same way.”
This really explains a lot about last season. I, for one, am glad he got that taken care of this offseason. I look forward to seeing what he can do when he’s healthy!
Bourjos also got married in November to his bride, Ashley. Peter talks about their wedding, Christmas traditions and what he’ll remember most about the 2014 season in a Q&A session with Langosch here. Enjoy! It’s a fascinating read about Peter!
