Tommy Pham was traded away from the St. Louis Cardinals hours before the trade deadline. How is he doing with his new team? Is he still cool with his former Cardinal teammates?

On July 31st, St. Louis Cardinals fans woke up to the news that center fielder Tommy Pham was traded to the Tampa Bay Rays in exchange for a prospect package containing Justin Williams, Genesis Cabrera, and Roel Ramirez.

The Pham trade was a shocker for fans and even Tommy Pham himself. The team that he has been with since he was drafted in 2006 traded him out of the blue.

During his second game with his new team, Pham was hit in the foot with a fastball and was taken out of the game. He was placed on the 10-day disabled list the next day and was expected to miss about a month due to a fractured foot.

We all know that Pham is one of the grittiest players in the league though, and he was back within two weeks. He even went 2-3 with a double in his first game back from the injury.

After going four games in a row without a base hit, it seemed like the Rays got damaged goods. Then, Pham started to turn it on, going 3-4 against the Kansas City Royals, only to dislocate his ring finger diving back on a pickoff attempt. He did get it popped back in place after the game and dodged a trip to the disabled list once again.

Pham really started to heat up after sitting out three games due to the finger injury.

He is currently riding a 10-game hitting streak while hitting two home runs and driving in six runs during his hot streak. He is now hitting .308 with a .908 OPS since being traded away from the St. Louis Cardinals. So it seems like he is doing well since being dealt. Pham has played a huge role in the Rays latest surge as they are now nine games over .500.

Lately, Tommy Pham has been doing live feeds on Instagram after his games. He usually just sits around and answers questions that fans, both St. Louis and Tampa Bay, have for him.

On Wednesday night though, Pham joined forces with slugger Marcell Ozuna and went live together. Players like Yairo Munoz and Jose Adolis Garcia got the chance to talk to Pham as well, and then Ozuna showed the stream to the whole team on the team bus. Everybody got to say hey to Pham and see how he was doing.

It is great to see that Pham is still on good terms with his former St. Louis Cardinals teammates.

Pham,30, will be under contract with the Tampa Bay Rays until 2022, then he will become a free agent for the first time in his career. He will also be eligible for arbitration for the first time in 2019.
