The Bad

Wade LeBlanc pitched two innings, giving up three hits, including a three-run blast to Colin Moran. He did strike out one. There will be more about LeBlanc in the next section.

T.J McFarland pitched the third and is now 2-0 on the season. Andrew Miller came in to pitch the fourth inning. He struck out three. But he also gave up a home run, another off the bat of Moran.

Luis Garcia pitched an uneventful fifth inning. Genesis Cabrera pitched one and two thirds innings, striking out two. Giovanny Gallegos pitched an inning and a third, giving up four hits but also striking out three.

Alex Reyes made things more interesting that he had to in the ninth inning, giving up one hit, a home run to Bryan Reynolds. He did strike out two and earned his 27th save of the season.

Cardinals hitters had another what could have been moment for the Bad section.

On Tuesday, the Cardinals were one for eight with runners in scoring position. They left six on base. Arenado grounded in to a double play.

On Wednesday, the Cardinals were three for ten with runners in scoring position and left eight on base. Arenado grounded in to two double plays.

On Thursday the team was three for 14 with runners in scoring position and left seven runners on base. While he had a better day, Arenado once again grounded in to another double play.

That’s not what you want from Arenado. Thankfully, he knows that better than we do and will be hyper focused to not do it again. Hopefully.
