Adam Wainwright makes his seventh start of the season on Saturday. The St. Louis Cardinals’ offense hopes to help even his win-loss record in 2016.

Coming off a game where he obliterated a three-run home run to Big Mac Land, Adam Wainwright and the St. Louis Cardinals will face the pesky Pittsburgh Pirates Saturday afternoon.

Wainwright has had a rough go about early on. He’s just (2-3) on the year with an ERA hovering around 7.00. However, his last two starts have been better than the first four. He hasn’t exactly had ideal run support this season.

More from Adam Wainwright

In 2014, Wainwright’s last full season, he went (2-2) with a 2.38 ERA in five starts against the Pirates.

The Cardinals couldn’t get over the hump Friday night against the Pirates and Francisco Liriano. The lefty has certainly had the Cardinals’ number in his career. The Pirates won Friday’s game 4-2.

Saturday the team will face Jeff Locke who is (1-2) with a 4.73 ERA this season. Last year against St. Louis, Locke went (0-2) with a 4.32 ERA in three starts.
