How Albert Got His Groove Back

facebooktwitterreddit

Whether Albert Pujols just has the Cubs number as of late or he is finding his power fails to be seen. What I do know, Albert has hit four home runs in the last six games, including two this afternoon with a walkoff blast in the 12th.

Honestly his shots have not traveled a major distance, lately though his swing seems to be just enough to put it over the wall. This season the other teams are not afraid to pitch to Albert as much seeing this has been a “down year” according to his statistics. Lance Berkman and Matt Holliday have been the major concern, but looks like when Holliday comes back we will truly have the best 3-4-5 in baseball.

Sunday’s performance saw Albert go 3 for 4 with 4 of the 5 RBIs and 2 HRs.

What has prompted such a change from Albert though? I said maybe it’s just the Cubs, but it looks more like he is just finally starting to get comfortable out there.

His season stats:

*223 ABs
*64 Hits
*12 HRs
*37 RBIs

The last ten games looks as follows:
* 38 ABs
* 12 Hits
* 4 HRs
* 11 RBIs

This may be a little early to predict such success, but didn’t I say the other day he is going to have a big June? 5/26 – Albert Focuses On Swing What it looks like is our own STL superhero is starting to come to form.

The Cardinals are already sitting at a .583 win percentage and lead the Central by two games over the Brew Crew. They the damage thus far with Albert struggling in the lineup, now batting .275 for the season. He has the most ABs by far for the Birds this season and has pretty much been the least productive piece to the puzzle.

One thing we do know for sure, Cardinal Nation is becoming optimistic and our star player is starting to take form to give the results people have come to expect from him over the years.
