Albert Focuses On Swing

It’s no secret Albert Pujols has been struggling early on this season. He has appeared in 51 games thus far facing 199 at bats and has an average of .261. NEVER in his career has he finished the season at less than .300.

One would think the contract situation is affecting Albert more than anyone would have guessed. He has been rebuilding since his slow start when he wasn’t even batting .200 and now is finding himself in a hole trying to catch up. He was on his career high homerless drought until earlier this week, hitting crushing his 8th season home run to left field of Petco Park on Monday. This was one month to the day since HR number 7 and it leads the people around the league wonder what is going on.

The Machine is appearing….like a mere mortal.

He admits this was really starting to mess with him psychologically. He stresses what he is looking for is quality hits at this point, not power. He has had flickers of good outings but for the most part this is indeed a down year. I have no doubt when he starts compiling hits, the power will return.

Fear not Cardinals fans, don’t give up on our MVP quite yet. If this is indeed his final season with us, hopefully this isn’t the way he continues to go out. If he does, hey, he may come at a cheaper price.

This star has not nearly burnt out quite yet. Albert is about to see a much more productive month of June.
