St. Louis Cardinals: Pitchers and Catchers Report
Today is the day St. Louis Cardinals’ fans have been waiting for. Today is the first day of Spring Training.
Pitchers and catchers have reported to the St. Louis Cardinals‘ Spring Training facilities. As I sit here typing away in my 2011 World Series Champions hoodie, the Cardinals’ players are enjoying the nice warm Florida air and participating in baseball activities. They are in the beginning stages of the defense of their 2015 NL Central title, something they have all but been eliminated from doing again.
Despite all the hoopla of the offseason and our disagreements on who the club added or didn’t add, we are finally here. Now, games don’t start for another couple of weeks, and position players have not yet officially reported, but this is a start. We are that much closer to having Cardinals’ baseball on our televisions and in our city on a nightly basis.
There are a lot of questions surrounding this team and a lot of people claiming this team is not going to be as good as the upstart Chicago Cubs. None of that matters today, today is a day we celebrate as fans, and a day that has finally come. I believe that this is just the start of a great season for our St. Louis Cardinals.
We get to see Adam Wainwright prove all of the doubters wrong, Stephen Piscotty and Randal Grichuk display their awesome abilities, Matt Holliday prove that his career isn’t over anytime soon, and many other things. While it is crazy that we are here after what seemed like the longest offseason in recent memory, it also feels like the season just ended yesterday.

I have been anticipating this day for a long time and I know that you have as well. Now, we get to start a new countdown, a countdown to Opening Day. That countdown is currently at 45 days. That seems like a long time right now, but I am sure that this day will arrive faster than we all think. One way I will help to pass time is by providing you the fans with excellent analysis on my favorite team.
I hope that through this time, you will keep coming back to read not just my articles, but the many great things that our team continues to put out. We are all excited for Cardinals’ baseball to finally get started. Let’s just hope we go through spring without any injuries.
