The Peoria Javelinas, featuring many St. Louis Cardinals prospects, fell 14-7 in a loss to the Salt River Rafters in the 2014 Arizona Fall League championship game.

It wasn’t the perfect ending to the season but Cardinals fans have got to be proud of their prospects this fall as the Javelinas went 15-14-3 on their way towards clinching the AFL West division. The Cardinals are known for being perennial contenders at the Major League level but the same can be applied to the organization’s teams in the Minor League as well as the Arizona Fall League.

Breyvic Valera was 0-for-2 with a run and two walks.

Jacob Wilson was 1-for-4.

Cody Stanley went 1-for-4 with a run and an RBI.

On the pitching front, Sam Tuivailala pitched one inning. He struck out a batter.

Mitch Harris pitched a third of an inning.

Chris Perry was shut down a few days ago but should be ready for Spring Training. Tyrell Jenkins did not pitch today but was available out of the bullpen if necessary.

C.J. McElroy was a late defensive replacement but did not have an at-bat.

Jason Simontacchi served as the pitching coach for the Javelinas this fall. He is expected to be the Springfield Cardinals pitching coach in the 2015 season after working with the Peoria Chiefs.
