A trip to see the Cardinals

I was in attendance for the Labor Day game between the St. Louis Cardinals and Cincinnati Reds. It was far from pretty.

The stands were a sea of red but that is to be expected between the two clubs. To the folks sporting the jerseys of the early 1980s, you guys rocked, too.

I don’t get what is up with Adam Wainwright against the Reds. The ace was rocked last week and then again this afternoon. Here’s too finding out what is wrong and hoping to find a solution before his next outing. The Cardinals cannot afford to have Waino acting un-Wainolike. It especially won’t be beneficial down the stretch.

What I cannot explain is that the last 3 games between the Cardinals and Reds that I was in attendance for have ended up with the same final score, albeit not exactly for the same teams. In the last 3 Cards-Reds games, the final score was 7-2. The Cards are 1-3 in those games.

As much as it pains me to say but of all the Cardinals games I have gone to, I have only seen two wins–and the rest, losses. I wish that wasn’t true because I enjoy watching a great ballgame…but I don’t lose the losing part of that.
