Cardinals at Pirates, Game 135 Thread

Well, after Liriano dealt with the Cardinals last night, there is yet another tie on top of the NL Central. Tonight, the Cardinals have a chance to regain their one game lead behind Lance Lynn.
Although Lynn has had a tough season, posting a 4.02 ERA, the ample run support he receives from the offense (5.41 runs per game, on average) has led him to a 13-8 record.
A.J. Burnett, Lynn’s counter part, has been good this year (3.18 ERA), but only has a 6-9 record due to the awful run support he gets (3.42 runs per game). He’s done well against St. Louis, going 2-1 with a 2.96 ERA, but his last outing was a little shaky, where he gave up 5 earned runs in just 4.1 innings.
In addition, Kolten Wong gets a start a second base tonight while Freese gets a night off. It’s always exciting to see how rookies handle themselves, and I have been particularly excited about him, so it’s good to see him getting a chance.
Tonight, the Cardinals will seek to fend off Pittsburgh and even up the series, while regaining the division lead. Let’s hope that Burnett serves up a repeat performance and the Cardinals can stop their little two game skid.
