Shelby Miller got the start for the Cardinals on Saturday night. Miller pitched 5.2 innings, allowing 8 hits, 4 runs, 1 walk, and struck out 5. He now sits on a 2.35 ERA for the season.

Not factoring in the 1 hour, 6 minute delay, the game lasted a surprising 2 hours, 27 minutes.

Unfortunately for Miller, the Cardinals offense didn’t show up. The Rangers pitching limited St. Louis to 2 runs on 7 hits. Allen Craig‘s RBI single that scored Carlos Beltran and Shane Robinson‘s sac fly that scored David Freese were the only scoring plays for the Cardinals on Saturday night.

Miller was relieved by Seth Maness, Kevin Siegrist, and making his Major League debut, Michael Blazek. Siegrist and Blazek were perfect in relief.
