The Cardinals hope to rejuvenate their season with a three game homestand against the Chicago Cubs starting tonight at 7:15. Kyle Lohse takes the hill for the Cardinals against Ryan Dempster and the rebuilding Cubs. Lohse is 9-2 this season with a 2.80 ERA. He hasn’t had a good track record against the Cubs, as he only has two wins in fourteen starts and a 5.59 ERA. Lohse is riding an eight game quality start streak heading into tonight’s game. Also, the Cardinals will be at full strength offensively for the first time as Matt Holliday returns from his leg contusion. They take on Ryan Dempster who has a 5-3 record to go with his 1.86 ERA. Dempster has eight wins against the Cardinals in 22 starts. He may be pitching his last few games as a Cub as he is a likely trade candidate. Dempster hasn’t allowed a run in 33 innings heading into tonight’s game.
