Redbird Rants Recap: 1/29/12 – 2/4/12

The talk around the St. Louis Cardinals and Redbird Rants this week has been Roy Oswalt. First he was packing his bags and well on his way. Then he met up with the Texas Rangers. The Boston Red Sox were in and out. Now the Rangers claim they are out too. Until he picks a team, passes a physical and signs, any of these teams or the “surprise” team is still in the mix. Here are the Oswalt posts for your review along with a few others from the past week.

I wrote about the Cardinals and Rangers going at it again and who would come out on top in the battle for Roy Oswalt.

Jason Evans feels the Cardinals need Oswalt as much as he needs them. He also tells us why Ozzie Smith should be a part of spring training this season.

Chris Ferguson asks if Kyle McClellan is packing his bags. McClellan is seemingly the odd man out of St. Louis if Oswalt is indeed signed.

Justin McClary continued his series covering minor league prospects, this time at the keystone position.

Dennis McHawes says enough is enough and Oswalt should sign already.

Daniel Solzman tells how the Rally Squirrel will forever live in lore fresh with its own Topps baseball card.

I’d also like to take minute to mention Redbird Rants being upgraded to the FanSided 3.0 interface. We are very excited about the new features and hope you will be too. Let us know what you think.
