Sunday Poll Question – 10/23/11

After Albert Pujols put together the greatest performance ever in a World Series game, he has officially cemented his legendary legacy not only with the St. Louis Cardinals franchise, but with Major League Baseball in general. He is on the verge of winning his second World Series Title with the only team he’s ever played for during his illustrious 11 year career, and there has been a lot of talk about how Pujols is a perfect fit the Redbirds.

While it’s hard to argue with that sentiment, I question how exactly the outcome of this World Series will impact Albert’s free agency decision. You might think that another WS Championship would encourage Pujols to stick around with this highly successful team, but maybe that would only make him more likely to leave town knowing that he has already reached the ultimate goal with this organization. If it’s not about the money, then it really comes down to whether or not Pujols is looking for a new challenge elsewhere rather than being that rare superstar who stays in one city for his entire career.
