3 standout performances in Cardinals series with Marlins

Dylan Carlson

Dylan Carlson was 2-for-4 with two runs and an RBI on Monday. In the eighth inning, Carlson knocked a triple to right field, scoring Nolan Gorman. Marlins reliever Tommy Nance through a wild pitch, allowing Carlson to score.

On Tuesday, Carlson got the scoring started for the Cardinals with a single to left field in the fourth inning, to score Tommy Edman. In the fifth, Edmundo Sosa knocked a triple to center field, scoring Brendan Donovan. Tommy Edman singled to right field, scoring Sosa. Carlson, knocked a ground-rule double to right field, scoring Edman.

On Wednesday, Carlson hit a sacrifice fly to right field, scoring Edmundo Sosa. In the fifth inning, Donovan hit a sacrifice fly to left field, scoring Sosa. Carlson hit a single to right field, scoring Andrew Knizner.

Carlson really broke out and performed well during this series, even taking over at center field after Harrison Bader went on the injured list for a plantar fasciitis issue.
