Tyler O’Neill

He looked like he just picked up right where he left off.

O’Neill had an impressive opening day with five RBI.

He had a bloop single in the first inning to score Carlson. He launched a huge 396-foot homer off of J.T. Brubaker, scoring Bader and Goldschmidt. The blast had an exit velocity of 104.6 mph. He even looked incredibly patient when taking a walk-off Duane Underwood Jr., in the sixth inning. He hit a sacrifice fly to right field, scoring Carlson again.

He had a good day! The 5-RBI day tied a record set by Wally Roettger on Opening Day in 1928.

Unfortunately, he was 0-for-3 on Saturday.

On Sunday, O’Neill hit a sacrifice fly to center field, scoring Dylan Carlson in the first inning. He also made several excellent plays in left field.

Once things heat up, Tyler O’Neill should have an excellent 2022 season.
