Ryan Helsley

Helsley 2022 Projection: W-L: 4-3, ERA: 4.15, SV: 2, IP: 52, SO/9: 8.8, BB/9: 4, WHIP: 1.33

Verdict: Buy

The Cardinal right handed flamethrower returns for his fourth season with the club looking to retain a higher usage role. After debuting in 2019 with an ERA of 2.95 over 36.2 innings, Ryan Helsley’s career ERA has risen to 4.03 and seems to be more where he will land.

It would not be surprising for his ERA to drop down into the 3.70 range, but with his WHIP increasing each year, it is more likely that he will produce league average numbers for the Cardinals bullpen, but doing so at a higher innings count, something the club will value.
