The St. Louis Cardinals could really use the services of Bryce Harper in the coming years, and now is the chance to secure them.

There are plenty of reasons these two are a good fit. So, here is an open letter from a St. Louis Cardinals fan:

Dear Bryce Harper,

I think we both know that in the coming weeks, you have a life-changing decision to make. A decision that could determine where you spend the rest of your career. Could that be in the bay in San Francisco, or maybe even the prominent sports market in Philadelphia?

All we know is that the day you arrive in your new location, you could single-handedly change the culture of that team, give them a newfound sense of hope, or be set to chase one of those world championships you might be looking for.

In the six years we have had the privilege of seeing you in the Majors, you have taken the league by storm. You’re only 26 years old, and already have an insane resume. Five time All-Star, NL MVP, Silver Slugger, and way more to come in the future.

Fans idolize you, model their games after you. You earned it. Now, I know there’s teams all over the league that are clamoring for a franchise changing player like yourself, but here’s one destination that could be absolutely perfect for you.

Now, let’s talk about the destination that could be a match made in heaven for you and your family. That certain destination is St. Louis.

First off, let’s talk about the spectacular and loyal fan base, which is widely considered as the best in all of baseball. Almost every night, there’s about 40 thousand rabid St. Louis Cardinals fans that pack Busch Stadium to the point to where you can barely see any open seats, screaming at the top of their lungs in support of their beloved Redbirds. Fans who love the sport more than life itself. Fans that would welcome you and your family with open arms.

You would get the opportunity to play in one of the best stadiums in baseball, also known as Busch Stadium. An absolutely stunning venue that has already seen two World Series championships since it first opened in 2006. With the Gateway Arch and one of the most beauteous views in baseball overlooking the stadium, it’s safe to say the stadium is “One of the best around! #stlouis”

As you may know, the St. Louis Cardinals have missed the playoffs for the last three seasons. With our new manager, staff, and young studs across the field, we are missing one piece in the puzzle to get back to World Series contention.

That’s you, a left-handed superstar bat, a superstar in which the Cardinals have been lacking of since Albert Pujols left. With all the young talent, especially in the pitching aspect on our team, adding you could make St. Louis the most dangerous team in baseball.

Our new manager, Mike Shildt, is also an excellent manager to play for. Though he has only been at the helm since mid-July, you could see the change in culture, the increase in energy in the field, the respect the players have for a guy like Shildt.

Shildt is a manager who stands up for his players, and could quickly rise to one of the top managers in the league with his ability to keep the clubhouse happy and his strategy, and he is always hungry to learn more about the game of baseball, which is always a plus. There is a reason why John Mozeilak, one of the top executives in baseball, was quick to extend him until 2021.

With high-voltage bats such as Matt Carpenter and Marcell Ozuna to All-Star pitchers like Carlos Martinez and Miles Mikolas, the Cardinals have a pretty solid all-around team. You would also get to play with one of the greatest catchers ever in Yadier Molina. Could you imagine a frat outfield of Harrison Bader, Bryce Harper, and Tyler O’Neill in the future. Boy would that be fun to watch!

The St. Louis Cardinals are one of the most storied franchises in baseball, with 11 World Series championships and 19 pennants, they boast a rich history, and are also not satisfied, and are vying for more. So many legends and Hall of Famers have come through St. Louis, including Ozzie Smith, Bob Gibson, Lou Brock, and Stan “The Man” Musial. We also can’t forget our future Hall of Famers in Albert Pujols and Yadier Molina.

Let’s be real, with the way that you have been playing, you are destined to be in the Hall one day, and I don’t think there is a better team you could do it with than the Cardinals.

There’s also a very high chance you could grace the red jacket, and be welcomed into St. Louis Cardinals immortality. Be able to be introduced in front of everybody on Opening Day, far after your playing days are over, to have the best fans in baseball screaming as loud as they were when you were still a player.

So, let’s get down to the main point. St. Louis desperately needs a guy like you, and Mozeilak and co. are willing to give you the payday you might desire to come to St. Louis as well. You get to play in a packed house every night, with fans chanting “M-V-P! M-V-P!” as loud as they can. You get the opportunity to play for a franchise with one of the richest histories in all of sports. We’re ready, the question is, are you?

Next. Hanging up the cleats is never easy. dark
