The opening segment featured discussion regarding the Cardinals’ latest quest for .500 baseball as they were wrapping up a series-opening victory in Kansas City against the Royals. Each panelist provided their insight into the four game I-70 series as well as reacting to the recent series win against the Cincinnati Reds.
Here’s what Nathan had to say about what the series against the Royals means and what to look for in the four games:
"“The offense is really what is going to put [the Cardinals] over the top if they’re going to make a run at the division, and they find themselves in pretty good territory in the division. Despite the frustrations, despite hovering around .500, at this point it’s all about putting runs on the board, racking up wins, and hoping the Cubs and Brewers don’t get too hot either.”"
At the end of the segment, the listeners gave their own feedback on twitter and Nathan edged out Josh in the twitter poll:

Next, the panel discussed the recent comments about the team made by Tommy Pham and discussed what it means for the clubhouse moving forward. Here’s what Josh had to say about the clubhouse:
"“I think there is a divide in this clubhouse. I think [Mike] Matheny has lost this clubhouse. If you lose [Yadier] Molina, you lose the entire clubhouse. But, winning will change things. Maybe winning can be a cure, but I do think there is a little bit of animosity among the players toward the management right now.”"
The third segment was all about the makeup of the Cardinals’ roster. Specifically, the panel discussed what should be in store for Dexter Fowler, Stephen Piscotty, Luke Voit, and Greg Garcia. Josh offered his own take on Fowler’s return and his lackluster year:
"“Dexter Fowler’s not going anywhere. Dexter Fowler’s going to be the starting centerfielder for this team the next few years. He was their guy this offseason. I’m going to say next season, Dexter Fowler’s going to have a much better season.”"
Josh also came out on top on the twitter poll for the segment:

In the final segment before the wrap-up, the guys talked about what it would take for the Cardinals to make a run at the division in the final months. Here’s what Nathan had to say about the stretch run:
"“It comes down to pairing good pitching with solid offense. Any combination of that works. An energized clubhouse would go a long way in making a run at the division. Just winning series consistently as you control your own destiny is the biggest thing you can do at this point.”"
The guys wrapped the show up with the show’s weekly National League power rankings, and Josh took the twitter battle 3-2 in the five segments.
