One way or another, the St. Louis Cardinals need to pull the trigger on a move and need to do it now.

The trade deadline is always an exciting time. Whether or not your team is buying or selling, it’s always exciting to hear a rumor about your team. At this point in time it remains to be seen if the St. Louis Cardinals will be buyers or sellers. The window isn’t closed for the division, but it sure isn’t a large opening.

For the first time in a while, St. Louis Cardinals fans have seen their team attached to some big names at the trade deadline. The team has always made their bread and butter by making smart moves around the deadline. This season though, the smart move might just be going out and getting a star.

This team isn’t just one move away from being competitive. The Cardinals front office is going to be very active over the next two weeks. John Mozeliak and Mike Girsch are assuredly working the phones, inquiring on potential deals and formulating a plan for this team going forward.

Patience will be key for a fan base that has had to endure a very tough season.
