On the heels of being swept in Pittsburgh, The St. Louis Cardinals finished off a three game sweep of the Braves with a 12-6 victory earlier this afternoon.

Well, I wouldn’t say that any of the three wins the St. Louis Cardinals got in Atlanta were clean, crisply played ballgames.

In fact, it was a pretty ugly series.

A combined 37 walks and 9 errors between the teams doesn’t quite qualify as “pretty” baseball.

But, the Cardinals got their first three wins of the season, and a sweep of the Braves in their final visit to Turner Field.

The series with Atlanta couldn’t have come at a better time. After being swept by the Pirates (and looking pretty bad in the process) to start the season, there was a lot of concern about the club and if they had enough to compete in 2016.

Fortunately, the Braves are probably the worst team the Cardinals will face all year. With the sweep, the Cardinals have built up some positive momentum going into series’ against Cincinnati and Milwaukee before hosting the Cubbies for the first time of 2016.
