Comeback Player – Jason Heyward

Bringing only a .217 batting average, two home runs and four RBI into the month of May, Heyward put himself in a strong position to bounce back from a rough first month with his new team.

The 25-year-old’s most recent surge came in St. Louis’ last homestand of May, in which he collected seven hits and captivated a comeback victory with a game-tying home run in the series finale against Arizona.

Heyward has used his athleticism to compensate for his early season slide, finishing up the month with 16 runs scored and four stolen bases.

Runner-up: Kevin Siegrist (1-0, 2.25 ERA, 5 HLD)
