A few days ago, I made the decision to step down as co-editor of Redbird Rants at the end of April.
I first joined the site following the 2011 World Series run and I’ve enjoyed my time covering the St. Louis Cardinals. I’ve had the opportunity to interview minor league prospects, draft picks, front office executives, sports broadcasters, and analysts since I started writing at Redbird Rants.
Due to an opportunity that I have decided to accept, I won’t have the time required of a co-editor’s commitment. It wouldn’t be fair to me nor would it be fair to that of those who enjoy Redbird Rants. If there is a time that is right in the future, I would love to come back as co-editor but for now, it’s just not feasible with what I expect my schedule to look like.
In my first season writing for Redbird Rants, the site went through at least three or four different editors and a load of different staff writers. Of all those that were writing for Redbird Rants in December 2011, I am the last one standing on the site. I stepped up in late 2012 when I was tired of the turnover in editors. I’ve stayed through two full seasons and the start of a third consecutive season. It’s not like I’m going away. I’m staying on as a staff writer or senior staff writer so I’ll still be here. I just won’t be committing myself to 25 articles a month like I have over the past several months.
You can count on me to tell you about the latest books relating to the St. Louis Cardinals. There’s quite a few due out this year and some that are coming out early in the 2016 season.
I’m proud of the work that I’ve put into this website and I can’t wait to see what the future brings the St. Louis Cardinals.
