Adam Wainwright Experiencing Abdominal Soreness

As per Derrick Goold, Adam Wainwright is experiencing abdominal soreness and is being sent back to St. Louis for further evaluation. It was also reported earlier today by Ken Rosenthal that Wainwright was attempting to build a stronger rotation bond by having the top seven guys wake up at 6:15 am.

"“In the offseason, I was thinking about our team, the turnover of the players, a lot of young guys we had,” Wainwright said. “I was thinking as a starting staff, you throw the first pitch of the game, you start the game off and hopefully you end the game. You set the tone. And I was just thinking, what a great message it would send to everybody in the clubhouse, everybody in the organization and to ourselves, too, that we would be among the first ones here.”"

Amusingly and unsurprisingly John Lackey wasn’t as keen on the idea due to the fact he’s grizzled vet but, made a side deal with Wainwright on the side for 6:30. Details will be updated when more information is released
