To say the St. Louis Cardinals shocked the LA Dodgers last night might be an overstatement.
They shocked the media for certain, though. And how ridiculous was that mess!
I know I wasn’t the only Cardinals fan appalled by Fox Sports 1 broadcaster Harold Reynolds insistence that the Cardinals were stealing signs or picking up on Clayton Kershaw tipping pitches. Just face the facts… Kershaw had a historic game. He … who was coroneted the Cy Young and MVP winner last night … gave up EIGHT RUNS in one inning. That is certainly Cy Young and MVP behavior, huh?!
Don’t hate Harold. Appreciate it. Give it credit. Don’t dismiss it as some sort of cheating or Cardinals Devil Magic.
Harold, I know the Cardinals having an offensive explosion off your boy in the seventh inning didn’t fit your tightly held narrative … but, the Cardinals slowly put together a string of hits and scored runs. Lots of them. And that should be applauded. Kershaw is supposed to be the best. The Cardinals played their best against the best. Don’t hate Harold. Appreciate it. Give it credit. Don’t dismiss it as some sort of cheating or Cardinals Devil Magic.
Now, moving on to tonight’s game! Lance Lynn against Zach Greinke. A battle of the best facial expressions ever? No! It’s a fun thought. But both guys are intense competitors. I look forward to seeing Lance Lynn lock in and keep the Dodgers off their game. I also look forward to the Cardinals getting to Greinke as quick as possible and knocking him off his game.
Sounds like a lot to expect. But. The Cardinals scoring 8 runs in one inning off Clayton Kershaw seemed impossible too.
Let’s do this! Go Cardinals.
