At the Boston Globe, Nick Cafardo asks who are the best coaches in baseball. Cafardo ranks former Cardinals first base coach Dave McKay as the third best outfield/base running coach. Former Cardinals assistant hitting coach Bengie Molina is ranked as the 5th best catching coach. Cardinals third base coach Jose Oquendo was not listed. There is no doubt in my mind that Dave Duncan would have been ranked first in pitching coaches if he had not retired as an active coach.
