The last Friday night of the regular season and we will be watching the St. Louis Cardinals as they try to close out the NL Central and continue to compete for the best record in the NL. If the Cardinals win or Pirates lose then the Redbirds are officially the 2013 NL Central champs. The Atlanta Braves and Cardinals are tied going into the last 3 games of the season for the best record.
The Redbirds send Lance Lynn (14-10 4.09 ERA) to the mound against the Chicago Cubs Travis Wood (9-11 2.98 ERA). Lynn really struggled most of the second half of the season, but has pitched very well the last three outing going 6 innings in each game giving up 1, 2 and 1 run in each game.
The only change in tonight’s lineup for the Redbirds is that Pete Kozma gets the nod at shortstop facing the left handed starter Wood. Since July 20th Pete has a grand total of 1 game where he got more than 1 hit in a game.
Please join us tonight to discuss the game, keep an eye on the Reds vs Pirates and Braves vs Phillies. We are certainly hoping and anticipating tonight will be the night the home team gets to pop the bottles in the club house celebrating the NL Central Title!
