St. Louis Cardinals at Cincinnati Reds, Game 137 Thread

Jeff Curry-USA TODAY Sports

After a  rough time against the Pirates (which I posit is an entirely psychological problem), the Cardinals have the good fortune of taking on the Reds for the next four games. They took 2 of 3 from them just a few days ago, and they’ve handled them well this season as a whole. Hopefully they can take 3 of 4 games before they have to take on Pittsburgh again.

Today, Adam Wainwright gets a shot at redemption. After giving up 9 runs in just 2 innings during his last outing against the Reds, he needs a good outing. Hopefully he’ll return to form and dominate today.

His counterpart, Matt Latos, gave up 4 runs to the Cardinals in his last outing, so if Waino can fend the Reds offense, the Cardinals ought to be able to turn it into a win.

As the Cardinals near the middle of this crucial stretch, they need to continue their domination of the Reds in order to stay in contention. Hopefully we’ll see them pull out a win today!
