Cardinals announce Spring Training Broadcast schedule

The St. Louis Cardinals have announced their broadcast schedule for Spring Training.

FOX Sports Midwest to televise all-time high 10 spring training games; 18 games broadcast on Cardinals Radio Network

ST. LOUIS, Mo. (February 6, 2013) – The St. Louis Cardinals announced today that fans will be able to catch more than half of the club’s 2013 spring training games throughout coverage on FOX Sports Midwest, the Cardinals Radio Network and ESPN.

FOX Sports Midwest will televise an all-time high 10 St. Louis Cardinals spring training games in 2013, twice as many as in previous seasons.

ESPN will televise two Cardinals exhibitions as part of its MLB spring training lineup – Monday, March 11 in Tampa at the New York Yankees, and Tuesday, March 26 at Port St. Lucie vs. the New York Mets – bringing the current total of scheduled spring training telecasts to 12.

As in years past, veteran broadcasters Mike Shannon and John Rooney will broadcast 18 games on the team’s flagship station KMOX (AM 1120) and the Cardinals Radio Network.

The first of 18 radio broadcasts will begin Saturday, February 23, as the Cardinals face the Miami Marlins. Throughout Spring Training, every Saturday and Sunday broadcast will feature the Cardinals Pre-Game Show. The show will air 20 minutes prior to first pitch and feature Mike Shannon or John Rooney interviewing Cardinals players, coaches and other baseball personalities.

The 118 Cardinals Radio Network affiliates will broadcast most Saturday and Sunday games, as well as select weekday games. Fans are encouraged to check their local listings for details. A complete radio broadcast schedule can be found below.

FOX Sports Midwest kicks off its live game coverage Thursday, March 14 when the Atlanta Braves visit Roger Dean Stadium. The broadcast schedule also features four games in Jupiter against the Miami Marlins and two visits each by the Washington Nationals and New York Mets. FOX Sports Midwest will also televise the Cardinals March 25 game in Fort Myers against the Minnesota Twins. Dan McLaughlin, Al Hrabosky and Rick Horton will call the action on FOX Sports Midwest.

The television home of the Cardinals will also air a 30-minute Spring Training Report special that premieres Monday, Feb. 25 at 9 p.m., and a 2013 Season Preview on Saturday, March 23 at 11:30 a.m.
