Musial tribute sections can be ordered online

This week is one of those weeks where not living in the St. Louis area has its disadvantages. I was unable to watch or record Stan Musial’s funeral.

Luckily for me and others, Fox Sports Midwest has a streaming video of their funeral coverage that I hope remains active for a few more days, if not weeks, on their website.

I had to order the January 20th paper over the phone. Had I been patient, I would have found out that I would have been able to order only the special section online instead. Which reminds me, today’s paper featured another commemorative Stan Musial section. The good news is that if you do not live in an area that receives the St. Louis Post-Dispatch like myself, you are able to order the paper for last Sunday and today online. You have the options of buying just the special sections for $5 a piece or the full paper for $10.

Then there was the customer service win with Sports Illustrated, only the win came after complaining on Twitter how customer service over the phone was of no help. It’s pretty sad when someone that answers their customer service line does not know who Stan Musial is. In any event, SI‘s Richard Deitsch and Joey Maestas came to my aid and now I will be receiving the issue with Stan on the cover. Even though I live one state away from Missouri, I was in an area that received the Harbaugh Bowl cover instead.

Win for me, right?

In any event, Bob Costas eulogized Stan the Man yesterday at Musial’s funeral. Of all the eulogies, it went viral as it should have. Costas chokes up at the 9th and 14th minutes of his nearly 20 minute eulogy. If you would like a copy of the transcript to the Costas eulogy, you can stop by El Maquino.
