Daily Rant: Cardinals complete sweep with 13-5 drubbing

The Cardinals took to Houston with the offensive fury that the numbers show they are capable of on Thursday night. They decimated the Astros to earn a season sweep and take some much-needed momentum into their three game showdown with the division leading Reds.

The Positives

• Jon Jay hit 13th double of the year and a single. He scored three runs.
• Allen Craig hit two singles and his 27th double to drive in three runs and score two of his own.
• Matt Holliday hit a single and a double and drove in four runs. He is now tied with Ryan Braun and teammate Carlos Beltran for the RBI lead.
• Yadier Molina hit a single and a double, driving in one run.
• David Freese hit two singles and his 17th home run. He drove in four runs.
• Rafael Furcal hit two singles and scored two runs.
• Barrett Browning, Edward Mujica, Fernando Salas, and Marc Rzepczynski combined for four innings of scoreless ball.
