Daily Rant: Cardinals power their way to series win over DBacks

The Cardinals made Joe Saunders pay for some costly mistakes as they two home runs off of the Arizona starter en route to a 5-2 victory.

The Positives

Allen Craig hit his 18th home run of the season and drove in his 61st RBI.
Carlos Beltran hit his 21st double of the year and scored a run.
David Freese hit a two-run home run. It was hit 16th homer on the year.
Daniel Descalso had two singles and scored a run.
Tony Cruz hit a single and scored a run.
Rafael Furcal hit his 15th double and third triple in a two hit, two RBI performance.
Adam Wainwright pitched six innings and only allowed two earned runs. He gave up five hits and a walk.
Edward Mujica, Mitchell Boggs, and Jason Motte each pitched perfect innings to close the game out. Motte picked up his 27th save.

Justin’s Jeers

Jon Jay and Matt Holliday were held hitless. Jay did reach base on a walk, however, and now has a 14 game on base streak.
