Daily Rant: Wainwright stymies the Brewers in complete game victory

Adam Wainwright and the Cardinals hosted the Brewers on Saturday night and apparently Adam Wainwright didn’t have any interest in losing. He shut down the Brewers for nine innings while the Cardinals offense went to work.

The Positives
- Allen Craig hit an RBI single to draw his average closer to .300.
- Matt Holliday also hit a single and scored a run.
- Carlos Beltran hit a single and hit 25th home run. He drove in his league-leading 77th RBI.
- Yadier Molina hit a two RBI single and stole his eleventh base. The speedy Molina has three steals in two days.
- Jon Jay hit his third home run of the season.
- Daniel Descalso hit his seventh double of the season and scored a run.
- Adam Wainwright pitched a gem, going nine innings and only allowing five hits and one earned run. He also helped his own cause offensively with a two hit effort, including an RBI double.

- Rafael Furcal and David Freese both went hitless, but the team made out fine without their performance.
