The Cardinals dropped a game to the Colorado Rockies on Thursday night thanks to some late inning crooked numbers put up by the Rockies. The game was looking like a pitching duel until the Rockies busted the game open in the seventh inning. More details follow after the jump.

The Positives
- Skip Schumaker hit a single and scored one of the Cardinals two runs from the leadoff spot.
- Jon Jay hit two singles, scored the other run, drove in a run of his own, and stole his eleventh base of the season.
- Carlos Beltran hit an RBI double. The double was his 16th of the year.
- Tony Cruz hit his sixth double of the season filling in for a sore Yadier Molina.
- Lance Lynn had a solid, if unspectacular outing. He only allowed two earned runs through six innings, but gave up seven hits and four walks.
Justin’s Jeers
- Fernando Salas, Barrett Browning, and Brian Fuentes didn’t come through for the Cardinals. The trio combined for six earned runs through two innings, including two home runs.
- Matt Holliday, David Freese, Lance Berkman, and Daniel Descalso were all held hitless.
Three Stars
3) Lance Lynn – Lynn did what he could, but got no run support to back up a solid outing.
2) Carlos Beltran – Beltran drove in a run, but recorded one of only five hits for the Cardinals.
1) Jon Jay – Jon Jay was the only noteworthy offensive player for the Cardinals, which says something.
