The Positives

  • Matt Holliday picked up a single and scored a run. His average is at a flat .300.
  • Carlos Beltran also hit a single and drove in a run.
  • David Freese and Matt Carpenter each picked up two hits. Freese had an RBI.
  • Tony Cruz also had a two hit night and hit his first home run.
  • Joe Kelly hurled a quality start, lasting six innings and only giving up two earned runs.

Justin’s Jeers

  • Rafael Furcal, Jon Jay, and Tyler Greene were all held hitless. Jay reached base on a walk though and scored a run.
  • The Cardinals stranded only nine runners, but a couple of them scoring would have definitely helped.
  • The bullpen was awful tonight, as Fernando Salas, Sam Freeman, and Victor Marte combined for two innings of work and allowed three earned runs to score.
