World Series Parade Scheduled For Sunday

One of the most exciting things about your hometown team winning a World Series Championship is the parade that follows. For the fine folks of St. Louis, that victory parade will take place on Sunday at 4 p.m. CT. A variety of festivities are planned as the Cardinals and their fans celebrate the 11th World Series title in franchise history.

The parade will be led down Market Street by the Budweiser Clydesdales. It will feature all Cardinal players and coaches, the mascot Freebird, the infamous Rally Squirrel, and musical entertainment by local high school marching bands.

Following the parade will be a special ceremony on the field at Busch Stadium. This will provide a chance for the players to thank the fans as well as for the fans to show their appreciation of this team’s accomplishments. A fireworks display will also be put on as a part of the ceremony.

Tickets to the stadium celebration are available for just $5 with all proceeds going to the Cardinals Care charitable foundation. All fans are encouraged to come out to commemorate the historic 2011 season that was, but those who are unable to attend can view all festivities on the Cardinals’ MLB website.

I’m not sure the celebration from Friday night has even ended yet, but before long, it will be time to turn the page to defending this World Series in 2012.
