Holliday Return Date Still Questionable

As I am sure all Cardinal fans are aware, following the Opening Day loss Matt Holliday underwent an appendectomy surgery and since then everything has been very questionable as to his status with the team. On Baseball Tonight this morning, Cardinals GM John Mozeliak made it sound as if they were just playing everything by ear and hope to get an answer in the coming hours.

As discussed, Karl Ravech questioned why he was still not placed on the DL since the injury typically takes at least 2-6 weeks. Mozeliak, in perhaps a desperate attempt to keep the fans optimistic, said they are hoping he could return to the club come next Sunday (a bit of a long stretch but if he can do it that’s terrific). As of now he is still just waiting to see how he feels and is working with the team to decide whether he needs to be placed on the 15 DL to clear room for another prospect from the minors.
