Padres 11 – Cardinals 3

The Cardinals struggled in yet another poor showing to help kick off the 2011 campaign. Albert gets his first HR in a solo shot to left center in the third.

Westbrook (0-1 16.62 ERA) had yet another poor showing to make Cardinals fans think:

1) Was he really worth the trade to get him

2) How long will he withstand the role as the #2 with Garcia in the mix

The game was going good up until the top of the 5th inning when the Padres went off and proceeded to bring in 6 runs to run the score to 9-3. From there the game painfully and slowly went on until the Padres answered with the last two runs in the 9th to wrap up an otherwise embarrassing day.

These first two games surely have to have Cardinal nation tearing their hair out wondering how the rest of this season is going to shape up. Albert is obviously on the line. Tony is surely to be on the hot seat if this continues. This is obviously too early to begin speculation and leaving fans to abandon ship, but can they right the ship and figure this thing out or will this be the consistent theme we will have to endure.
