Jason Motte thanks Cardinal Nation on Twitter

Former St. Louis Cardinals pitcher Jason Motte took to Twitter to thank Cardinal Nation as he heads north to the Chicago Cubs.

Motte’s letter is as follows:
To Cardinals:
Thank you Stl Cardinals and Cardinals Nation for the love the past day or so and the past 11 years. It has been an amazing ride. From the Cardinals taking a chance on a light hitting (okay, a very light hitting) catcher, to turning me into a pitcher, to getting tackled after the last out! The friends and memories my family and I have made during our time in Stl, both on and off the field, will last a lifetime. For that you will always be apart of us.

Though the uniform has changed, the Motte Foundation’s mission is the same. We hope you continue to support us in our effort to #KCancer.

Thanks for everything,
The Motte’s

For Cardinals fans, it will certainly be different next season as Motte wears the Chicago blue as opposed to the St. Louis red. I wish him the best of luck in future endeavors. We all would have liked to have seen him continue with the Cardinals but realistically, it was impossible given the depth of arms in the bullpen.
