Just five games remaining in the regular season and the St. Louis Cardinals have a two game lead over both the Reds and Pirates and trail the Braves by just 1/2 game for home field advantage in the NL.  Tonight at home the first place Redbirds send rookie Michael Wacha (3-1 3.21 era) to the mound facing Gio Gonzalez (11-7 3.39 era) of the Nationals.

The injury front news for the Cardinals has only gotten worst the past few days.  Matt Holliday has missed the last two games with back issues and he is listed day to day.  Also the team will do x-rays on Allen Craig‘s injured ankle again this Thursday. It was reported that he was still in a walking boot now 3 weeks after spraining it.  It was hoped the Cardinals would get him back this week and get him some at bats before starting the playoffs.  So the Cardinals are down some players with offensive fire power, but they continue to find ways to keep on winning with good pitching and timely hitting.

Join us tonight to discuss the Cardinal game as we also scoreboard watch the Pirates, Reds and Braves games as well.
