Cardinals at Brewers, Game 154 Thread

It’s time for another game thread!

Last night’s loss was rough. Blowing a 1-run lead twice in a game and losing in extra innings always hurts, but we have to move on. The positive takeaway was the fact that we still took 2 of the 4 games in Colorado (which is what I predicted!).

Tonight, the Cardinals move on to Milwaukee to take on Johnny Hellweg and the Brewers. The young right-hander is 1-4 with an 8.31 ERA in 5 starts this season. He has never faced the Cardinals, which may not bode well for St. Louis, as they have not fared well against new pitchers.

On the mound for the Redbirds is Shelby Miller, who has been on the upswing after a couple of rough starts. His biggest problem remains efficiency, and he needs to focus on pitching deeper into games.

Ideally, the Cardinals will turn around their bad habit of hitting poorly against bad pitchers they’ve never seen before, and Shelby can shut down the Brewers for 7 innings.

But there’s more good news! Matt Adams must be feeling better, because he’s starting at first base tonight. Perhaps his bat can spark the offense.

Both of the Cardinals’ rivals play each other tonight as the Reds and the Pirates face off. Keep your eye on that game going forward, either way, it’ll be important to the future for the Cardinals.

Now let’s go St. Louis!
