Hello, everyone! Welcome back to the game thread. I apologize for not having one yesterday. My computer was doing weird things and I couldn’t get the site to load at all. But we’re back tonight!

Yesterday was a really tough loss. Michael Wacha pitched well, Seth Maness gave up his thirteenth earned run of the season, and the Cardinals couldn’t put a run on the board.

Tonight, Shelby Miller and Bronson Arroyo go at it.

Shelby’s last outing against the Pirates was a rough one, and he appeared to be having some back pain in the middle innings. Hopefully, he’s feeling better and will be able to shut down the Reds. The Cardinals need to win these last two games in order to go 3-4 on this road trip and stay in the thick of things before heading home to face Pittsburgh again.

Luckily for the Cardinals, Arroyo is coming off a very rough outing where he gave up 6 runs in just 3.1 innings to the Colorado Rockies. In addition, he has yet to win a game this year against St. Louis, going 0-3 with a 5.96 ERA. That’s to add to his lifetime 8-16 record against the Redbirds.

Hopefully, Arroyo will have another bad day and the offense will rebound, while Shelby takes control on the mound.

Let’s go Cardinals!!!
