Minor League Highlights

Some highlights follow from this week’s action in minor league spring training games.

Monday highlights:
Playing for Memphis, Kolten Wong was 2-for-3 with a double and run scored. Chad Huffman went 1-for-3 at the plate with a home run, 2 RBIs and two runs scored.

Playing for Palm Beach, Stephen Piscotty was 2-for-3 at the plate with a home run and 2 RBIs. Jonathan Rodriguez went 2-for-3 with a home run and 3 RBIs.

Tuesday highlights:
In Memphis action, Kolten Wong was 2-for-2 with a double, two runs scored, two RBIs.

Wednesday highlights:
Kolten Wong continued his impressive week with Memphis, going 4-for-4 at the plate with a home run, four runs scored and two RBIs. Chad Huffman 2-for-5 with a home run, 2 RBIs, and 2 runs scored.

Pitching for Palm Beach, Tim Cooney went 5 innings, giving up 2 hits, and striking out 7.

Pitching for Peoria, Michael Wacha went 5 innings, allowed 1 hit, and struck out 5. Offensively, Charlie Tilson went 4-5 at the plate with a double, two RBIs and a run scored. David Washington went 2-for-5 at the plate with a double, 2 RBIs and 2 runs scored.

Thursday highlights:
Playing for Memphis, Adam Melker went 3-for-4 at the plate with a run scored and RBI. Jake Lemmerman went 2-for-4 with a two-run home run.

Pitching for Peoria, Kurt Heyer went 4.1 innings, allowed 3 hits, 1 earned run, and struck out 6. Offensively, Patirck Wisdom was 2-for-5 with a home run, 2 RBIs and 2 runs scored.
