The Bad

The Cardinals left a lot of runs on the table falling back into an old trend of leaving runners in scoring position.

On Friday, the Cardinals were 3-for-14 with runners in scoring position and left 12 runners on base. Tyler O’Neill was 0-for-5, striking out one and leaving four runners on base. Andrew Knizner was 0-for-4, striking out once and leaving four runners on base.

Runners left in scoring position with two outs happened two times by Nolan Arenado, once for Harrison Bader, once for Dylan Carlson, and twice for Lars Nootbaar.

Tyler O’Neill grounded into a double play.

On Saturday, the Cardinals won handily but still could have done more. They were 4-for-16 with runners in scoring position and left 10 runners on base.

Runners left in scoring position twice for Carlson, and once for Corey Dickerson, Goldschmidt, Knizner, and Nootbaar.

Albert Pujols grounded into a double play.

They looked terrible on Sunday, going one-for-10 with runners in scoring position. They left seven runners on base. Runners left in scoring position with two outs for Arenado, Edman, Bader, Pujols, and Dickerson.
