St. Louis Cardinals: Sunday is the biggest game of the year

The St. Louis Cardinals need a win more than they’ve needed one all season on Sunday for many reasons.
Sunday is the last day of the 2020 MLB regular season for every team. That is, every team as long as the St. Louis Cardinals win.
This tired and worn out team needs a win to make it to the playoffs as well as to ensure they aren’t forced to play one last doubleheader on the year on Monday. On Saturday, the Cardinals had a chance to clinch a playoff spot, but the hide-and-seek offense couldn’t be found.
With just two hits over all nine innings on Saturday, the Brewers easily dispatched the Cardinals in their 3-0 victory. However, the Cardinals the same chance to make the playoffs again today if they just win.

The Cardinals were helped yesterday by a loss from the Reds, Phillies, Giants, and Cubs.
They still sit at a 97% chance to make the playoffs, as they would have to lose Sunday and both games on Monday to miss the playoffs completely. However, avoiding playing on Monday at all costs should be the plan.
