The St. Louis Cardinals, along with many other teams in MLB, have teamed with Loot Crate to bring home-delivered goods to fans via their new division, Sports Crate.

The mail truck rove all the way up to my house this morning. This is always a good thing as this means that a package is being delivered. And, in fact, that was exactly what it was: I received my first Sports Crate this morning full of amazing St. Louis Cardinals loot!

Let me tell you about! If you missed my earlier post on the agreement between Loot Crate (Sports Crate) and Major League Baseball, jump over here and read the details of the agreement.

To the delivery… Let me start by sharing that the box itself is pretty darn cool. This black box has a massive St. Louis Cardinals logo on the top with baseball field and official scoring designs in the background of the inside design. In addition to the massive STL logo, the box comes with an official MLB sticker, making this a very real thing.

Opening the box, I found loot that made me glad to receive this box. This month’s loot included an Adam Wainwright collectible figure. This figure is in the “ballers” collection and is a Sports Crate exclusive. The 21-points-of-articulation figure can be modeled to look like any portion of Waino’s delivery and will look awesome beside my other bobble heads.

Next, I found an MLB collectible pin to embody this month’s theme: Bringin’ the Heat. This pin has the Cardinals logo with the bird on the bat surrounded by flames erupting from a hurled baseball.

The Sports Crate box also included a soft foam, zipper mini-cooler/lunchbox. This black box carries the Sports Crate logo. I plan to put the collectible pin on the box and use this to carry my lunch with me to work when the summer break concludes. I trust that other teachers will be jealous of my added piece!

To accompany the Waino figure, the Sports Crate box contained a wrapped Topps, St. Louis Cardinals, Adam Wainwright baseball card. This Topps card is a special edition for Sports Crate and is number one in a series of five St. Louis Cardinals cards. I anticipate the the following four boxes this season will contain the other cards of the Cardinals series. That is certainly my hope.

Keeping with the “heat” theme, the Sports Crate box has a creative version of the classic Cornhole game. This version- limited edition for the crate- features one cornhole board with the likeness of Yadier Molina painted on it. Players toss beanbags made to resemble baseballs into Yadi’s mitt (the hole).

Lastly, the Sports Crate box came with a limited edition St. Louis Cardinals long sleeve sports shirt. This shirt came in my size as my registration for the subscription allowed me to tell my shirt size. This shirt is- quite simply- awesome! The shirt has red sleeves and a gray body with the red St. Louis Cardinals logo on the chest. I cannot wait to wear this shirt!

I am glad that I am a recipient of the Sports Crate boxes and I cannot wait for the next one to arrive as well.

Next: Cards MUST be better

I urge all St. Louis Cardinals fans to consider signing up for the Sports Crate service. Visit their website for more information and Go Cardinals!
