St. Louis Cardinals’ top five contributors

Despite dropping two-straight games to the Detroit Tigers, Mike Matheny and the St. Louis Cardinals still hold a 24-12 record, the best mark in all of Major League Baseball, and a three-game edge in the National League Central.

After losing staff ace Adam Wainwright for the year to an Achilles injury, a number of arms have stepped up to help carry the load – both in the starting rotation and the bullpen. Offensively, the team has been solid, ranking second in the NL in terms of on-base percentage and sixth in runs.
