The St. Louis Cardinals are the rival of the Los Angeles Dodgers according to outfielder Yasiel Puig.

Puig’s comments came at an event on Friday.
“We can’t let them beat us three straight times,” Puig said. “No way. They’re a good team, and we all admire them. They have very good pitchers, very good players. If we beat them, we can win the World Series. We have to pass through them. They’re our principal rivals, not San Francisco, not anyone else.”
Puig’s comments came days after three-time Cy Young Award winner Clayton Kershaw acknowledged the Cardinals when he accepted his award.
“So my last thank you goes to the St. Louis Cardinals,” Kershaw said when he accepted the award. “Thank you for reminding me that you are never as good as you think you are.”
Kershaw’s comments are understandable given that the Cardinals have eliminated the Dodgers from the postseason two years in a row. Kershaw is the best left-handed pitcher in the game right now and one day, he will get his World Series ring. The only question is: will the Cardinals be standing in the way?
As for Puig’s comments, I have never viewed the Cardinals and Dodgers as rivals.
Former Cardinals pitcher Shelby Miller, now with the Atlanta Braves, says that his sinker will take his game to the next level.
"“I still need a lot of work with it. I need a lot of work with all my pitches. There’s all sorts of ways to get better. But I think that’s definitely a pitch that will help me be more efficient and take me deeper into games.”"
Prospect Rob Kaminsky has become an elite left-handed pitcher.
"“It’s pretty simple — either you do it or you don’t,” he said. “There’s no trying, you either successfully do it or you don’t do it. There’s no reason to whine about something, you do or don’t.”"
