Cardinals Tickets 31% Below Season Avg For Series Vs Phillies

It wasn’t that long ago that the St. Louis Cardinals shocked the Philadelphia Phillies in the Divisional Round of the playoffs on their way to a World Series title. Now the Phillies schedule has given the team fits, as the Phillies sit six games under .500. The Cardinals, on the other hand, are sitting six games above .500 and in second place in the NL Central. Their 39 wins would be enough to take the top spot in the NL East. Now the two teams square off with the Phillies this weekend’s opponent on the St. Louis Cardinals schedule. St. Louis Cardinals tickets are averaging $43.55 on the secondary market for the series, 31 percent below the season average.

6/19 PHI David Buchanan vs. STL Shelby Miller | Avg. Price: $24 | Get-in Price: $5

David Buchanan makes his sixth career start in the first game of the series. He’s been subpar in his starts, but did earn a win his last time out. But that was after lasting only five innings, and it was against the hapless Chicago Cubs. The average price of the game is easily the cheapest of the series at $24, and the get-in is also the cheapest at $5.

6/20 PHI A.J. Burnett vs. STL Jaime Garcia | Avg. Price: $52.35 | Get-in Price: $23

The next game starts a stretch of three straight promotional giveaways with St. Louis Cardinals vs. Philadelphia Phillies tickets. The first is a replica Bob Gibson jersey for the first 25,000 fans 16 or older. The jersey is to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the 1964 World Championship game that Gibson pitched and won MVP honors. The get-in price is the highest of the series for the game at $23 and the average price is $52.35.

6/21 PHI Cole Hamels vs. STL Adam Wainwright | Avg. Price: $57.84 | Get-in Price: $14

The next night has the most expensive average price of the series at $57.84. It’s also arguably the best pitching match of the series, and fans get a free tote bag for attending. Adam Wainwright starts for the Cardinals, and he has been one of the best pitchers in the league during his career with the Cardinals. Known for his nasty curveball, Wainwright is once again putting in a bid for a Cy Young award this season. Cole Hamels has long been one of the Phillies best pitchers, and is a homegrown talent. This season he’s having arguably a better year than Cliff Lee despite getting off to a rough start to the year. The get-in price is $14.

6/22 PHI Kyle Kendrick vs. STL Michael Wacha | Avg. Price: $40 | Get-in Price: $9

The get-in price drops down to single digits for the last game of the series at $9. The average price of the game is $40 for Cap Day, with fans receiving a free Cardinals baseball cap when they go to the game. Last season’s postseason sensation, Michael Wacha, gets the start for the Cards. He’s built on last season’s performance, trailing only Wainwright in WAR on the team while posting a 2.79 ERA despite a misleading 5-5 record.
