Playing for Memphis, Taveras was 1 for 2 at the plate. Diaz, meanwhile, went 2 for 4 with a run, walk, and strikeout. However, it was Chris Swauger who hit the ball deep to right field for a 3-run blast in his only hit of the game. Memphis went on to win 4-1 over New Orleans.

Until he can get his visa situation worked out, Diaz is limited to only being able to play in the minor league games taking on backfields.

Playing for Springfield, Breyvic Valera was 3 for 5 at the plate with 2 runs and a RBI. Starlin Rodriguez went a perfect 3 for 3 at the plate and added a run. Arizona Wildcats alumnus Alex Mejia, drafted in 2012 with teammtae Kurt Heyer, went 2 for 4 and drove in a run. Springfield won 5-4 over Jacksonville.

Palm Beach scored many times in a 7-6 win over Jupiter. Carson Kelly was a triple shy of the cycle as he hit 3 for 4 at the plate. He scored twice and knocked in 3 runs. In his other plate appearance, Kelly struck out. Nick Martini and Jake Stone also added home runs for Palm Beach.

Rafael Medina and Jon Keener hit home runs in Peoria’s 6-2 win over Greensboro.
